Andrea is sick and suffering – at least according to the season 3 premiere of The Walking Dead, and we didn’t even see her and Michonne in episode 2. What can we expect when she makes her reappearance?
Michonne is now taking responsibility for Andrea after she found Andrea in the woods about to be overtaken by walkers. The two have now become incredibly close, with Michonne refusing to leave her even though Andrea knows her illness is holding Michonne back.
We know from the promo for next week that Andrea and Michonne will end up in the hands of the Governor (but first, Merle!). Laurie Holden dishes to Access Hollywood in this Walking Dead video on what to expect from this new character and David Morrissey’s portrayal.
“What I love about his take on the Governor is that he’s not the obvious villain. He’s very charming and seductive…totally foxy. But you don’t really get that he’s evil from the outside. I mean, he’s the perfect sociopath. On the outside you just think, ‘Wow, this man is amazing.’”
We fear the Governor may be able to work his wiles on Andrea, which would end up leading him to her friends. Her main goal is to reunite with Rick’s group.
“It’s going to be a very challenging season for Andrea because she’s separated from her friends.”
Holden also hints that decisions Andrea must make are going to have dire effects on the rest of the characters.
“She’s going to be faced with a lot of hard choices, and the ramifications of the decisions she makes have – and this is an understatement – a dramatic impact, not only on her life, but on a lot of people. It’s really epic storytelling.”
Even though Andrea may fall prey to the Governor’s manipulative ways, it seems like Michonne is going to keep her head clear and never lose her sense of self.
“She’s never going to stop kicking butt. That’s what she does. She is a warrior woman.”
Holden also shares that she loves doing the show, no matter how popular it is (but that’s still a nice bonus).
“Just as long as people dig it and we’re doing good quality. But of course I’m grateful for the numbers because that means it’s going to hopefully have some longevity.” We hope so, too.
We’re excited that next week’s episode has the return of Andrea and Michonne, because that also means we’ll be meeting the Governor.
