Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas are both willing and ready to revisit Neptune for more Veronica Mars… when their busy schedules allow it.
Following the success of the fan-funded Veronica Mars movie that came out in 2014, both creator Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell have repeatedly expressed interest in returning for a limited series run.
But this time, with all the TV revivals happening, it wouldn’t be a crowdfunding project.
Rather, Thomas revealed at the TCAs (via Yahoo! News) that he and Bell are eyeing, “A six-episode Veronica Mars mystery,” adding with confidence, “if I were a betting man, I bet that it will happen.”

So the question isn’t if the series will return, but when. Because despite the creative team’s enthusiasm, they’re both very successful people with several different commitments to honor.
Kristen Bell currently stars on NBC’s excellent comedy series The Good Place, which Thomas believes “is going to be on NBC for a while.”
And Thomas himself is not only doing iZombie, but is also developing a Lost Boys remake series for The CW.
“If those things weren’t happening, we might be closer to Veronica Mars,” Thomas admits, but affirms that “we both want to do it.”
