Love tweeting along to your favorite TV shows? A little bird told us that Twitter now wants to improve your experience.
It’s fall season, which means colorful forests, crazy weather, wild oceans… but who needs nature when you’ve got TV, right? The television fall season has officially begun, and of course a large part of live watching is being able to tweet along with fellow fans.
Variety reports that Twitter is working on several new features that’ll allow for easier, more enjoyable live-tweeting. The TV Timelines feature is now more widely available, with shortcuts to the timeline included in users’ tweets.
The TV Timelines aggregate content for specific shows on designated pages, kind of like lists you can set up for distinct timelines based on interests areas/people you follow.

Within the TV show-specific timelines, “official” tweets (i.e. from the network) will be highlighted. Because it’s a discovery function, a TV show timeline will be somewhat hierarchal, featuring the “best” tweets about a specific show.
While Twitter has been working on this feature for a while, they’ll finally begin making it widely available. So far, however, it’s still only available for mobile Twitter clients.
In the future, Twitter will also begin introducing more curated pages for other major social and media events. Last night’s supermoon, for example, might have had its own timeline.
Now we just need a function that lets you block tweets about specific shows from your main timeline. Protecting users from spoilers would surely be a viable pursuit for Twitter, too!
