Quite a while ago – before Hypable had launched – we had heard that Queen was interested in teaming up with Adam Lambert because of his unique voice that they thought could replace Freddie Mercury’s.
Today, a new collaboration has been revealed: they’ll be performing together live this summer.
Lambert will be the lead singer for the band the entire night at an international music festival. From Rolling Stone:
Although reports came out earlier this month that Lambert would be performing again with Queen, the singer and his label, Hollywood Records, would not confirm any guest appearances until today.
“As many suspected, I can finally confirm: I have been invited by Queen to sing one very special concert! Sonisphere at Knebworth July 7th!” Lambert tweeted this afternoon. “Sorry to be coy about the details the past few weeks, but I made a promise to keep it under wraps as best I could. Gonna be a surreal night!”
This sounds like a great event, and we’re sure Lambert will be able to pull it off. Congrats to him!
