After last week’s non-elimination leg, eight teams will once again set off on the latest leg in The Amazing Race season 24, episode 5, “Can’t Make Fish Bite.” And one team has some serious time to make up along the way.
After placing first in the second leg of the race, Brendon and Rachel have had a few missteps, but thanks to last week’s non-elimination leg they are still in the game. Anyone who has seen these two compete knows that they can never be counted out. It is truly anyone’s race as the teams continue to fluctuate from top to bottom with surprising regularity.
A tough jump, some flight delays, and a remarkably difficult pour caused all sorts of trouble for many teams last week, affecting Brendon/Rachel and Margie/Luke most of all. The final task, the dreaded Detour, forced teams to choose between mixing drinks or mixing beats.
Neither task was simple and frustration ran amok, but Rachel’s newfound ability to focus brought both teams back after considering taking the penalty. Ultimately, Rachel and Brendon hit the mat last, but thanks to those all important non-elimination legs, their race was not yet over.
