Sunday night broadcast television was dominated by none other than Football. In preliminary reports, NBC clinched a victory, narrowly besting FOX’s Animation Dominaton line up, which premiered as follows…
The Simpsons – 7.90 million viewers; The Cleveland Show – 6 million; Family Guy – 7.63 million; American Dad – 5.72.
In addition, Family Guy won in the coveted Adults 18-49 on Fox, a demo that advertisers target (4.1/9).
Elsewhere, CBS premiered The Amazing Race – 10.52 million viewers (down nearly 9% from last year), The Good Wife – 10.50 million (down nearly 41% from a second hour of Amazing Race last year), and CSI: Miami – 9.98 million (down nearly 39% compared to Undercover Boss last year).
ABC premiered its final season of Desperate Housewives, 9.78 million viewers, down 26% from last year; and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which was down in both hours 8% (at 7PM) and 13% (at 8PM). Cue the political jokes regarding Ms. Obama’s guest appearence on Extreme Makeover.
In series premiere news, Pan Am debuted with 10.87 million viewers and 3.1/7 in the Adults 18-49 demo. It was up 4% from Brothers and Sisters last year.
