True Blood season 6, episode 2 just finished airing on HBO. Now you can get a preview of next week’s episode 3 “Who Are You, Really?” and discuss the storyline with fellow fans.
On the heels of a busy season premiere that focused on Alcide’s werewolf power, Louisiana’s governor seeking revenue, Eric giving back Sookie her home, and the introduction of Warlow, True Blood season 6, episode 2 titled “The Sun” saw Jason formally meet his fairy godfather. The character proved he was Jason’s kin (and not Warlow) by revealing a lot about Jason’s history. He warns that Warlow is ancient and can’t be destroyed easily.
Meanwhile, Eric is able to take out the material that Tara was shot with by humans who were trying to shut down Fangtasia. While that went well, he wasn’t able to easily convince his sister to find out more on what Bill has become.
Not even Bill knows who he is. He meets Lillith who warns him that events have been set in motion. What are they? We don’t know, because Sookie’s phone is ringing in another scene. She’s been awoken by Arlene, who tells Sookie she’s overslept and is missing her shift.
At Merlotte’s, Terri and Arlene run into Patrick’s wife, who’s missing him. They try to comfort her, and Arlene reminds her that things can really be weird sometimes.
Speaking of weird, Sookie is walking to work when she encounters a man who claims he was attacked by a vampire. It turns out he’s a half-fairy. Sookie brings him to her house, and immediately sparks fly (though Sookie chalks it up to her head being hit after getting attacked). No more going to work for Sookie!
Back at Merlotte’s, a group of young adults comes up to Sam and wants to talk to him because he’s a shifter. Sam plays it off, but he starts paying attention once one young lady brings up specific examples of the trouble going on. It’s then that Sam invites her back for a talk, and the girl (Nicole) says she wants him to “come out.” Nicole wants him and other supernatural creatures to come out so they can start a movement.
Back at Bill’s, we learn from the mysterious woman, who says she’s a god, that a tyrant is rising and she needs Bill to complete her work. Jessica wakes Bill up, and a girl named Veronica comes along and sells herself to be bitten by vampires. After first not responding, Bill is incredulously is able to control the woman and suck the blood out of her through her mouth without even touching her.
We jump back to Sookie’s, who’s making sparks fly – literally – with her new patient Ben. Later at Sookie’s house, Macklyn and Jason enter the house to find Warlow. Macklyn is able to find the place where Warlow entered the house and jumps in to the invisible portal. He comes back out quickly (Jason couldn’t enter), and says it’s worse than he thought.
At Fangtasia, Eric’s sister and Pam are talking. The former insists that Eric really cares about Pam. That may be proven by the next scene, where we see Eric at the Governor’s house looking to speak with him. Disguised as someone from the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Eric thinks he’s glamouring the Governor into treating the vampires better, but the Governor “snaps out” of his fake glamour-ization and reveals the humans have developed contacts to prevent the glamour trick from working.
Over at the Stackhouse residence, Sookie meets her grandfather for the first time. That’s when he warns Sookie and Jason that Warlow is a vampire who’s been obsessed with the Stackhouse family for thousands of years because they are the original fairies.
Grandfather Sookie reveals that the Sookie faeries can channel their light into a ball of energy that can kill any vampire. He trains his granddaughter.
Not to be fooled by the Governor, Eric glamours his daughter into letting him in her home. At disturbed Bill’s house, Jessica sends a prayer through Bill to every one of the main characters we’ve come to know and love. She goes so far as to bless her old flame Hoyt.
Bill once again enters his dream-like state where he’s told to trust what he sees. That brings him to life, and the television comes on just in time for Bill to see a news report about vampires being dragged by humans in the street.
…Which makes Jessica realize that Bill can see into the future, because he saw that vision earlier. We then flash forward where we see all of the characters in a chamber where they’re being burned to death by light. Bill can definitely see ahead.
