Brace yourselves, cuddle bunnies because the book trailer for author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s first installment of the Titan Series is finally here and it’s bound to leave you eagerly anticipating the release of The Power!
The Return picks up a year after Seth makes a deal with the gods, binding him to a life of servitude. Whatsmore, Apollo’s back and he’s got a new job for our favorite Apollyon: keep a seemingly ordinary college student by the name of Josie Bethel alive by any means necessary.
Considering where we last left Josie and Seth at the tail end of The Return, the official trailer for the first book in the Titan Series is sure to get you even more excited for the release of The Power than you probably already are.
Created by Film 14, the trailer does a great job of bringing the gory opening scene of the first book to life, while simultaneously portraying Seth’s snarky attitude as he lays out what’s been going on with the Hematoi, a race of individuals who reside on Earth that are direct descendants of the Olympian gods.
Another thing that’s bound to make fans excited is the brief glimpse the trailer gives us of Apollo, played by The Originals alumn Chase Coleman.
For his part, Coleman said he loved getting the opportunity to portray a legendary Greek god.
“Some of my favorite stories are the Iliad and The Odyssey,” the actor told Hypable on the set of the book trailer. “I love Roman and Greek mythology so to get to play Apollo? Hell yeah! I mean, who wouldn’t want to do that?”
Aside from looking the part, Coleman also earned author Jennifer L. Armentrout‘s seal of approval. The New York Times Best-Selling author, who was on the set to watch her book come to life, said Coleman was the perfect fit for her version of the legendary Sun God because of his easy going, slightly snarky attitude.
Additionally, the author spoke to Hypable about the process of casting for the teaser, a production she revealed was much bigger than those for her previous book trailers.
“We brought Drew Leighty in as Seth because he’s on the covers and then they allowed me to pick Josie [played by Brooke DiTullio],” explained the author of the casting process for the trailer. “Then they reached out to me about Chase Coleman and I was like, ‘Of course!’ Who’s going to say no to that!”
You can get your hands on The Return via Amazon, Barnes & Noble or iBooks, but readers who have already zipped through the first installment of the series will have to do a bit more waiting before they can get their hands on the highly anticipated sequel. The second installment of the Titan Series is called The Power and it’s due out on Feb.23.
Check out the official synopsis for The Power below:
With any great change, there is always strife, and the Covenant University has become the frontline between pure-bloods who want the Breed Order reinstated and the half-bloods who want the right to control their own destinies.
Fate has other plans.
The violence is escalating and war between the races seems inevitable, and it couldn’t come at a worse time. Hyperion may be out of commission, but Josie and Seth know they have only earned a reprieve. Seth must get Josie fully prepared, which means controlling her newfound abilities, and they need to find the other demigods before the Titans do.
But the gods are sensing a greater threat.
Only one thing is more dangerous than a bunch of starved Titans, and that’s an out-of-control Apollyon. The aether in Josie is drawing Seth in deeper, and when lust mixes with love and gives way to power, he knows being close to her is not only dangerous to her, but to everyone around them, but letting her go requires a level of selflessness that just isn’t Seth’s style.
The paths taken in the past are becoming the roads of the future.
Just as chaos breaks out, familiar faces from the past return, complicating the already strained bond between Josie and Seth, and when the danger from the Titans erupts with devastating consequences, the dark allure of power calls to Seth again, but this time Josie might not be able to pull him back.
And when the struggle between power and love becomes the deadliest battleground, there may be no salvation.
