On the Australian July 4 (as in yesterday, because Australia is in the future), Thor: Ragnarok started filming.
Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok is officially in production! This news comes via executive producer Louis D’Esposito, who tweeted:
Best of luck to @TaikaWaititi and the whole cast and crew of #ThorRagnarok . July 4 they started filming. Australia is in the future.

Ant-Man director Peyton Reed chimed in:

In the third Thor movie, Chris Hemsworth (who must be loving the fact that he gets to film closer to home) is joined by Mark Ruffalo, who played The Hulk in Marvel’s two Avengers films.
And for the occasion, Ruffalo joined Snapchat! He’s promising to take us on the set of Ragnarok, and we can’t wait to see what snaps he decides to share:
Hey brothers and sisters, I'm on finally on Snapchat taking you on the set of #Thor3. Follow along ? markruffalo pic.twitter.com/KY7qLw44pP

Thor: Ragnarok will reunite Thor with his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins), and Heimdall (Idris Elba). It also stars Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, and Karl Urban as Skurge.
Ruffalo has previously described Thor: Ragnarok as a “universal road movie,” with Kevin Feige hinting that we can expect a lot of Planet Hulk influences: With only a few scenes set on Earth, 80-90% will take place “in the cosmos.”
We wish Taika Waititi and his crew a great production period!
