Filming for the X-Man’s origin sequel is underway in Australia, with Les Miserables actor Hugh Jackman reprising his role in a scene including bars, beers, and a bear!

The Wolverine is a direct sequel to 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, thought to be based on Frank Miller’s “Wolverine” comic series which sees the hero in Japan (the post-credits scene at the end of The Wolverine‘s predecessor shows Logan drinking in a Japanese bar). Oddly, however, Australia was instead doubling for a snowy town in Canada. The scene in question seems to be one particular portion of the comics in which Wolverine tracks down a beer-drinking hunter to a local bar, after suspecting a bear has been poisoned.

Also starring Svetlana Khodchenkova and Will Yun Lee, The Wolverine is scheduled for release next year.

How do you think this sequel will compare to the universally panned origin story?
