CD Projekt Red, the company behind the brilliantly gritty role-playing game The Witcher and its sequel The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, have released the first details of their latest project.
CD Projekt’s next triple-A RPG is based on Mike Pondsmith’s classic pen-and-paper RPG, Cyberpunk. The RPG will be set in the Cyberpunk world, a “rich, futuristic world, with ultra-modern technology[…]a decadent and degenerated human society”, according to Marcin Iwinski, co-founder of CD Projekt Red.
The developers have promised to make a mature RPG set in a realistic and brutal world with a non-linear storyline and advanced RPG mechanics. Further, in contrast to The Witcher games, there will be character customisation including a choice of different classes, which will be detailed at a later date.
The game does not yet have a release date.
