At New York Comic Con AMC debuted a new The Walking Dead season 7 sneak peek that shows how Rick reacts to seeing one of his friends being killed right in front of him!
Fans have seen Rick deal with losing his friends and family before, and this isn’t the first time he’s had to witness it happening right in front of him. Rick can be somewhat of a wild card and it’s hard to predict how he will react in the moment.
A new The Walking Dead season 7 sneak peek is showing just how Rick acts after watching someone pulverized right next to him:
Of course the sneak peek doesn’t show much and is mostly an interaction between Rick and Negan. It appears that Rick is oddly calm immediately after the attack happens, perhaps because they’d spent most of the day being chased by the Saviors. Or maybe it’s because he was just relieved that those closest to him, Carl and Michonne, are still safe. It’s really hard to say without knowing what actually happened.
Rick does promise that he’ll be the one to kill Negan, though. He says it won’t be today or tomorrow but that it will happen. Negan can’t let that slide when he’s trying to teach them their place in his world.
It appears as though Negan wants to teach Rick another lesson which will take away his right hand man. Since Rick isn’t about to give up a name, it looks like he’s about to literally lose his right hand. This would be similar to an event in the comics where The Governor cuts off Rick’s hand, but that didn’t happen on the television series.
At the end of the sneak peek, there’s also a shot of the gore left over from who ever was killed. There’s not much there to give any clues as to who could have been killed. But the fact that it was right next to Rick, and that he had blood on the right side of his face indicates it was probably either Maggie or Abraham that got killed.
At this point, you could point out clues to it being either one and I’m personally on the fence as to who I think it is. It’s also possible that who ever gets killed is dragged out in front of everyone. We’re all just going to have to wait until the The Walking Dead season 7 premiere to know for sure.
