Expect to see more of three characters in The Walking Dead season 4 who had a smaller presence in season 3.
AMC has promoted Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Emily Kinney to series regulars for the fourth season. They play Tyreese, Sasha, and Beth respectively.
The three characters were on good terms with Rick and the (newly enlarged) group of prison inhabitants by the end of season 4. Beth shot her first zombie, too.
Several characters were killed throughout season 3, so it’s no surprise that the show is making a few of the smaller characters take on larger roles.
As we told you last week, David Morrissey (The Governor) is set to be a regular in season 4, too. With that in mind, we can expect the search for The Governor to be one of the major plotlines of the next season.
The fact that Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Sasha, is being promoted to series regular could impact her role as Tamara on Once Upon a Time. With her significance having just been revealed in the last episode, “Selfless, Brave, and True,” it’s surprising the actress has time to do both shows. Perhaps this could spell trouble for Tamara on Once? Could her character be departing so soon?
The Walking Dead season 3’s finale premiered to record viewership this past Sunday. It pulled in just over 12 million viewers for the 9 PM airing. The show continues to grow an audience thanks to its human drama storyline and great word of mouth.
One of the show’s producers revealed on Twitter that season 4 will begin shooting early next month. We can expect the show to premiere new episodes this October, as they’ve done in years past.
Thanks, Deadline.
