The Walking Dead season 7 returns this Sunday with “Rock in the Road.” Here are a few teases from the episode to get you ready for all the action!
It’s been two months since we last saw Rick and the rest of his team on our television screens, and they left us with quite the reunion. Daryl had managed to escape from The Sanctuary with the help from a mysterious person within. But he also ran into Jesus who was also on the compound and they left together.
At the Hilltop, Maggie and Sasha were making quite the impression on the people there. With the exception of Gregory who wanted nothing to do with them and seemed quite jealous that his people seemed to like Maggie more than him.
Rick made the trip to Hilltop to see Maggie after coming to the conclusion it was time to fight back against Negan. He definitely wasn’t expecting to find Daryl there too and it was a very emotional moment.
With the number of murders by the Saviors racking up, the group was renewed with a new sense of courage. However, they’ll have to come up with a way to defeat the much stronger group. To make things even worse, Negan took Eugene as hostage.
Here are spoiler free teases from ‘The Walking Dead’ mid-season 7 premiere:
- The episode picks up where it left off with Gabriel and the mysterious stranger that was watching him.
- Greg is still a jerk but that might not matter anyways because the people of Hilltop are on Maggie’s side.
- Rick reacts to the Kingdom and Ezekiel just how you’d think.
- Daryl’s concern about what happened to Carol will make shippers squeal.
- Rick and Michonne have a clever way to take down a herd of walkers.
Although the series has struggled with its storytelling this season, the mid-season premiere does begin to put together the pieces of what we hope to see going forward. There’s very little interaction with the Saviors themselves and it allows for some great character development. Hopefully, the rest of the season continues in this manner.
The synopsis for The Walking Dead season 7, episode 9, “Rock in the Road” reads, “Rick and the others are led to a new community, where they meet the residents and their ruler.”
