The end of season 5 is peeking over the horizon and while we all wish it would sink back for a few more weeks, at least tonight’s episode isn’t quite the end yet!
Last Time on ‘The Vampire Diaries’
The Other Side is not doing well, and Grams does not let Bonnie forget it. She spent the majority of last episode warning Bonnie that she needs to tell Jeremy sooner rather than later.
We also saw the Salvatores, Luke, Caroline, and Elena shack up at Caroline’s father’s old cabin in order to stay protected and off the Travelers’ radar. To pass the time, they played a few games, including “Never Have I Ever” which didn’t turn out well.
Enzo was up to some dirty tricks and after a little attempted drowning and a massive fire in the barn, Damon promised him that he would do everything in his power to bring Enzo back to the real world. Now, whether he was just stalling or not has yet to be seen.
The episode ended with some tender moments between Stefan and Caroline as well as Damon and Elena (the latter including a kiss) before Elena was whisked away by the Travelers.
Oh, and that Traveler guy Julian took over Tyler’s body. So, there’s that to deal with too.
So basically, the Mystic Falls gang needs to stabilize the Other Side, save magic, keep Stefan and Elena away from the Travelers, kill Markos, bring Enzo back, expel Julian from Tyler’s body without a Travelers knife, and deal with all their relationship drama as well. They can do this, right?
Synopsis
OUTRUNNING DEATH – When Stefan and Elena escape from Markos’ (guest star Raffi Barsoumian) control, only to find themselves stranded in a remote location, Stefan gets philosophical with Elena about her relationship with Damon. After their attempt to protect the dopplegangers goes badly, Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) and Luke (guest star Chris Brochu) come up with a dangerous new strategy. Damon recruits Matt and Jeremy to help him set a trap for Markos, who turns out to have a devastating surprise of his own. Bonnie finally admits to Caroline that she’s been keeping the truth about the Other Side from everyone. Finally, while Bonnie searches desperately for a way to stop Markos, Caroline is witness to an unthinkable act of violence by one of the Travelers.
Sneak Peeks
Caroline wants to kill Tyler. HOLD ON. Before you throw pitchforks (or celebrate) check out this clip where Bonnie and Caroline discuss this not-so-great plan.
Enzo is a little pushy about when Damon is going to keep his promise to return him to the land of the living and an exasperated Bonnie makes sure Damon knows it.
Stills
The stills focus on Elena and the witchy twins, but that is starting to seem like a VERY important scene…
Extended Promo
In case all those goodies weren’t enough, check out the extended promo where Damon sums up what they have to do to get things back under control… before something goes horribly wrong like usual.
