Last night on The Vampire Diaries one of our favorite characters decided to make a move that every other vampire has done in their past, and we’re so looking forward to it.
When Caroline Forbes decided to flip her humanity switch, we have to admit that it was a move we didn’t see coming. Caroline is one of the most likable characters on the show, and that’s all because of her bubbly, peppy, controlling personality. This is the girl that never gave up on finding Bonnie and the one who filled the rest of the characters with optimism and cheer, so her decision to flip her switch definitely came as a shock.
So it wasn’t until now that we realized a humanity-less Caroline might be the best thing to happen to the show this season, depending on how it all plays out.
Why do we think this is such a good move? Because it should bring forward a new side to Caroline that we have never seen before, and it’s going to be a welcome temporary change. We have to wait until March to find out exactly what humanity-less Caroline is all about, but that won’t stop us from guessing.
She’ll be stronger.
Caroline was strong with her humanity, and we feel she’ll be even stronger without it. Yes, it’s a total given that someone without emotions can be stronger since they don’t have regret, sadness or guilt (i.e. Damon Salvatore) but we think this will make Caroline even more Caroline-like.
Caroline would likely use her newfound strength to plan amazing parties and help the police force in Mystic Falls run more efficiently since her mother is gone. We can totally imagine her trying to take control of her mom’s old job, and hope that she tries to compel people at the precinct to do stuff for her because that’s so something that Caroline would do. Speaking of which:
She’ll try being in control.
And that’s probably an understatement. Caroline Forbes is the most controlling character on the show, and that was with her humanity. All throughout the season you saw her trying to control the circumstances: Using Alaric to track down the Gemini coven, prepping the cabin for her mother’s last day of life, trying to get vampire blood to cure cancer.
Now, without her humanity, Caroline will probably be even more adamant about the fact that she can control herself and her vampire habits. From the trailer, we see Stefan voicing his opinion that Caroline is going to snap, and Damon saying, “Uh-oh, did Caroline fly off the rails? If so, I called it!” Clearly Caroline is going to think she has the upper hand on her supernatural ability, and in the end she’ll probably end up accidentally killing someone. But seeing her journey and attempt to control her animalistic tendencies is definitely going to be television worth watching.
The best part:’The Vampire Diaries’ will be all about Caroline Forbes
She’s one of our favorite characters on the show, and it’s about time that we get an episode dedicated to her and just her. This won’t be about her mother, or necessarily about her love interest, it’ll just be about Caroline and how she handles the stress of grief and loss. The last time we got this much Caroline was when she was first turned into a vampire back in season 2!
Are you excited to see what this new Caroline Forbes will be like? Or are you just waiting for the episode to be over so we can have normal Caroline back already? Let us know in the comments below!
