The Originals season 3, episode 12 promises some great new wrinkles in everyone’s plans. Cami is an especially interesting wrinkle as she goes up against the Mikaelsons for the first time.
Last week’s episode showed Davina being presented with a most intriguing offer of help, as well as the Original family under fire from an adversary they definitely didn’t see coming. With the Quarter chock full of vampires looking to preserve their Original makers, who knew that the one with the power to bring them down would look so… familiar.
Last week’s episode ended with Cami walking off with a bit of White Oak in her hands. The Mikaelsons were under the impression that they had destroyed any and all traces of the stuff, since it is the only substance in the known world that can permanently dispatch an Original to the great beyond.
Thanks to the newly discovered Strix coven, we learned of a ‘pale white horse’ that could bring down the Originals just in time for the description to click for Klaus. The look on his face as he realized what it was that could possibly bring them down was mesmerizing.
A carving. A young man’s carving for his sister in a time of grief. He was just trying to comfort Rebekah with a figure carved from the White Oak, but he overlooked it’s significance. A piece of wood meant to offer comfort in a difficult time is now the only object known to exist that could possibly kill them.
This week, Cami has the figure, and all she wants in return is for Klaus to give her stuff back, too. They are basically two kids in a playroom, fighting over toys. Klaus has Cami’s toys, and Cami has Klaus’. If they could find a way to just trade them, all would be well, but it definitely won’t be that easy.
There is never a dull moment in the Quarter, and Cami is making quite a splash in her first few days as a vampire. If this is how she’s going to begin her second-life, we can’t wait to see where she goes from here.
