S.H.I.E.L.D.

Ever since the announcement that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be coming to the small screen in the form of S.H.I.E.L.D., questions have fired off in every direction about who would star in the upcoming ABC show.

After months of buildup and snatches of casting information, the pilot for ABC’s Avengers-based television show S.H.I.E.L.D. began filming this week – and fans were treated to a few behind-the-scenes photos from the set.

During the Critic’s Choice Awards, MTV caught up with Avengers director Joss Whedon and he brought up how far along he was on The Avengers sequel and when he’ll be shooting the pilot for the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show.

We’ve heard precious little about the upcoming Avengers tie-in TV show S.H.I.E.L.D., but today we’ve received a few words from the head of ABC concerning the style of show, including exactly how much writer Joss Whedon will stay involved.

We’ve long known that the Avengers spin-off TV show S.H.I.E.L.D. has been brewing over at ABC, but until now we’ve had very little information as to which characters would be making an appearance in the thing.

Marvel seems to be determined to become as well-known for their shorts as Pixar! A teaser for their upcoming short film, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer, set for release with the Captain America Blu-Ray, has been released featuring S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg).

Remember last month when we speculated if Marvel would hop on the short film bandwagon only to find that two shorts featuring S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Agent Coulson were already in production? Well now we have the teaser trailer for the first one and the name of the second one. Details and video after the jump!

Photos of S.H.I.E.L.D emblazoned military vehicles were posted on a Pennsylvanian’s Facebook page after being spotted in a parking lot ‘about an hour outside of Pittsburgh.’
