The director of Ender’s Game has labelled the homophobic views of the Orson Scott Card, the book’s author, “dreadfully ironic,” as many LGBT groups plan to boycott the upcoming film.

A boycott of the upcoming Ender’s Game film by a group of people concerned about Orson Scott Card’s homophobic stances has led Lionsgate to issue a statement and reveal plans for a premiere that’ll benefit pro-LGBT causes.

Ender’s Game author Orson Scott Card has a new view on the gay marriage debate, he announced in a message on Monday.

The plot for the long-awaited film adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s 1985 Sci-Fi Novel Ender’s Game will parallel that of the book, but will take place over a shorter period of time in the character’s lives.

News has come down that Asa Butterfield (Hugo) has finalized a deal to play the titular character in the upcoming Summit Entertainment adaptation of Ender’s Game. This news comes a week after we reported Butterfield’s potential involvement in the film, additionally Variety is reporting that producers are eyeing Harrison Ford (Star Wars) for a major role after negotiations with Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the RIngs) fell through.
