The Voice Season 5’s top 20 contestants took the stage live to earn America’s votes, but they had to match up to the precedent set by multiple performances from coach Christina Aguilera, and an amazing closer from her most promising contestant.
The votes were revealed and four contestants were sent home on The Voice last night as former coach Cee Lo and legend Rod Stewart took the stage for some performances of their own.
It was Team Shakira’s and Team Blake’s turn to win America’s votes, and they gave Adam and Usher’s teams a run for their money. Shakira and Blake also took the stage to perform a country duet.
Team Adam and Team Usher kicked off season 4’s live performances and set the bar high for their competitors. We were also treated to a special performance by Monday’s coaches themselves: Adam Levine and Usher.
The Voice took a turn toward democracy in its first live episode of the season appropriately airing on Election Week. We rank the best performances of the night in our Live Playoffs Part 1 recap.
