Though the Looking For Alaska movie has seemingly fallen apart, the book to film adaptation of John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle’s short story collection Let It Snow is moving along.

The YA book Let It Snow co-written by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle will be turned into a film by Universal.

Following The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns, and Looking for Alaska, another book (partially) written by John Green has just been optioned for film: Let it Snow.

The American Library Association (ALA) is celebrating 30 years of Banned Books Week, a movement started to support the freedom to read. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community – librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types – in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.

The Teens’ Top Ten is a “teen choice” list where every title is nominated and voted on by teens. The 2012 nominations have been posted on the YALSA website so that teens across the country can read them all summer.

The American Library Association (ALA) has released its annual report on banned books. The ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom received 326 reports regarding attempts to remove or restrict materials from school curricula and library bookshelves.

On Saturday there was an event at Books of Wonder in NYC featuring 19 Young Adult authors.  All of whom shared the experience of wearing the Pajants.

Yesterday was a interesting day for the National Book Foundation and Lauren Myracle, who was initially nominated and then withdrew from the Young Reader’s Award.
