Hot on the heels of Chronicle director Josh Trank being appointed to helm an upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, Fox has assigned the project a screenwriter!
It’s amazing we’re now halfway through 2012, a year that has offered plenty in the way of both blockbuster films and the smaller, more intimate indie fare. Taking that into account, it seems only fitting to offer up something a long the lines of a best of/worst of post for the first half of 2012.
When Chronicle first hit theaters back in February, it was hailed as an exceedingly fresh and original take on a potentially difficult film to make successfully. From the actual execution of the film, to the marketing strategy that took advantage of social media and the internet age to make the film a $100 million success. That being said, it’s interesting to see whether the home video release of Chronicle can live up to the example the theatrical release set.
We’ve heard a lot about this upcoming Fantastic Four reboot and how Chronicle director Josh Trank might be involved, but today at CinemaCon, Fox executive Tom Rothman confirmed that Trank is already at work on developing the reboot.
