Though The Weinstein Company was prepared to release the film without a rating after receiving an ‘R,’ the MPAA has now granted Bully a PG-13 rating.
The MPAA recently went under fire for refusing to lower the rating of Harvey Weinstein documentary Bully from R to PG-13. Now popular movie critic Richard Roeper is calling out the group.
Briefly: Back in February we reported that head honcho of The Weinstein Co. Harvey Weinstein was considering boycotting the MPAA after Bully, one of his documentaries, was given an R-rating by the ratings company. The Weinstein Company has now released a statement saying that the bullying documentary will, in fact, be released “unrated,” following an unsuccessful appeals campaign.
