The last two seasons of Arrow have, in terms of character development, been spent on turning Earth-2 Laurel Lance into the Black Canary from the villainous Black Siren she originally came to Earth-1 to be.

After three more seasons, Laurel Lance will thrive as the Black Canary once again. It’s been a long road, with many missteps, but we finally get to see Katie Cassidy as the iconic heroine again.

Seven years. That’s how long it took for Arrow to finally get the character of Laurel Lance (even if she happens to be the second incarnation from Earth-2) in the right hands. And it shows.

Let’s face it, Arrow’s Oliver Queen is a murderer. So are Felicity, Dinah, and Thea, but nobody has held those four to the same moral code as they hold Earth-2 Laurel Lance, AKA Black Siren.

Black Siren and Dinah Drake may have been pitted against each other since Siren’s arrival, but now that they’re past this petty feud, perhaps there’s a chance these characters could shine together in Arrow season 7?

As the biggest advocate for Black Siren to find redemption and live a life that Earth-1 Laurel would be proud of (with her reputation on the line), Black Siren seems to be an attempted replacement.

With the death of Quentin Lance, Sara and Earth-2 Laurel are left fatherless (and without any present family), so a relationship between these two needs to be explored as their lives progress.

In a surprise return, Katie Cassidy will be a series regular once more in Arrow 6.
