Hollywood legend Meryl Streep is taking the leap to the small screen with The Nix, which will be produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot.

Since J.J. Abrams and his production company, Bad Robot, hit it big with LOST, the pressure has been on to get new genre shows on the air. Sometimes they’ve been successful and other times, they just fall flat.

According to a press release sent over by Paramount, fans will be able to catch nine minutes of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness in IMAX 3D starting December 14 in front of The Hobbit.

The Lost and Star Trek director has lined up his next film to produce!

J.J. Abrams is set to produce a sci-fi spec script called God Particle, from writer Oren Uziel, for Paramount with his Bad Robot banner.

Yesterday, Paramount Pictures and JJ Abrams’ production company Bad Robot extended their “first-look” deal to December 2015.  It’s not surprising their deal was extended, as Paramount and Bad Robot have jointly made high-grossing films, including Cloverfield, Super 8, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Star Trek, and are currently working on a Star Trek sequel.
