Universal Japan has shared a few new details about their forthcoming Super Nintendo World land, which’ll eventually come to Universal Orlando and Hollywood.
In an announcement from Japan this morning, Universal and Nintendo execs shared a new trailer previewing Super Nintendo World, and spoke about their goals for the land.
Notably, Universal’s Mark Woodbury confirmed the existence of a Mario Kart attraction, describing it as “a key part” of Super Nintendo World. What’s more, Woodbury says the ride will be “an attraction unlike the world has ever seen” thanks to “the most immersive and cutting edge attraction that you can possibly imagine.”
Big promises! Based on what Universal did with Harry Potter, we have high hopes for Super Nintendo World and their Mario Kart ride. Check out the new trailer below, which finds Mario hopping around the park:
The trailer shows that the land is heavily focused exclusively on Mario’s world, and not other properties like The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. There appear to be areas themed around Princess Peach’s and Bowser’s iconic castles. While we don’t know for sure if these other #brands won’t be a part of the park, it seems that the “base” land will be focused on the plumber and his friends.
Watch the cute announcement video, which also features some live-action Mario (and might hint at elements of the park):
