The world premiere for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will take place in L.A. on December 14.
While us mere mortals have to wait until December 18 (or December 17, if you’re in the U.K.) for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the official world premiere date has now been set for December 14.
The big event will take place in L.A., and The Hollywood Reporter writes that it is expected to be one of the biggest red carpets of the year.
Considering Disney’s quest to keep The Force Awakens plot details under wraps, there probably won’t be a lot of opportunities for press screenings ahead of Episode VII’s world premiere. So whomever manages to score a golden ticket for the event gets to feel extra special!

No talent has yet been confirmed, but considering the massive amount of buzz that has surrounded not only returning cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew but also the newcomers, we imagine that the level of fan excitement will be off the charts.
Also starring in The Force Awakens are Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, and Max von Sydow.
The premiere is of course also expected to draw other Hollywood talent as well, and we predict that everyone who is anything will jump at the chance to walk the red carpet for the newest installment of the Star Wars saga!
The European premiere will be held in London on December 15, with smaller (but no less extravagant) red carpets scheduled for countries around the world.
Will you be camping out for any of the premieres?
