Harrison Ford, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and other Star Wars: The Force Awakens cast members are featured on the latest Vanity Fair cover.
Update: While we’re still waiting for more portraits, here’s a video depicting Leibovitz’s time on The Force Awakens set. There are a few notable appearances in the video including a quick clip of composer John Williams with Abrams, and Adam Driver playing who looks to be the villain Ren (finally some confirmation!):
Just in time for Star Wars Day tomorrow (May the fourth be with you, a day early), Vanity Fair has revealed their Star Wars: The Force Awakens cover featuring Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, as well as newcomers John Boyega as Finn, Daisey Ridley as Rey, and BB-8 as BB-8.
The cover is especially notable because it was photographed by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz, most known for her numerous celebrity portraits.

Vanity Fair promises to have more photographs, interviews, and video tomorrow on Star Wars Day.
While this cover may not show a ton, it’s nice to see another look at these characters. We first saw the reveal of Han Solo and Chewbacca in the second Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer where Han said the already iconic line, “Chewie, we’re home.” This cover features them in the Millennium Falcon, presumably the home that Han was referring to.
It’s also worth noting that Han is wearing the same leather jacket he wore in the teaser, and one not all that dissimilar to the one he wore in Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. It’s still unclear if The Force Awakens will see the return of his iconic vest, but hopefully it will.
Another interesting thing of note: the cover features Rey, Finn, and BB-8 on the Millennium Falcon. While it’s possible that this is only for the purposes of showcasing them all on the cover, it’s also possible that this could be a hint that Rey, Finn, and BB-8 could find their way onto the Falcon at some time during The Force Awakens.
Lucasfilm is really revealing aspects of The Force Awakens slowly, and that continues with this cover. While it may not offer anything new, it certainly does its job of wetting our collective appetite for more.
