Sarah Michelle Gellar explains her deadly new character, the “Seventh Sister” in a new featurette for Star Wars Rebels season 2.
In the new video, Gellar — best known for her iconic role as the titular badass in Buffy the Vampire Slayer — explains the outlines of her character’s identity. Check out the revealing featurette on Buzzfeed.
“I am an Inquisitor,” Gellar confirms. “I may be ‘number seven,’ but I’m pretty much number one.”
Like the original Inquisitor who dogged the Ghost crew in season 1, Gellar’s Seventh Sister wields a red-bladed double lightsaber. However, the Seventh Sister seems to have a more specific purpose than her predecessor.

“My character believes that Ahsoka is back,” Gellar confirms. “She is trying to track down Ahsoka, as well as the rebels. And just kill them all!”
The fact that the Seventh Sister’s real name remains a mystery preserves the possibility that — like so many other characters in em>Star Wars Rebels — the female Inquisitor has crossed over from The Clone Wars. Her interest in Ahsoka Tano might lend credence to the idea that Gellar is playing Barriss Offee, a friend of Ahsoka’s from that series, who met a bitter but uncertain end.
Either way, the Seventh Sister is certain to change the game for the Ghost crew in em>Star Wars Rebels season 2.
“She definitely plays cat-and-mouse with Kanan,” Gellar confirms. (Adorably, Gellar is married to Freddie Prinz Jr., the voice of Kanan.) “All Inquisitors want to mess with the Jedi, that’s why we’re put on this earth! Galaxy, I should say.”
em>Star Wars Rebels season 2 returns this month with “The Lost Commanders,” an episode featuring Captain Rex and two other clones from The Clone Wars series. The trio will return in the next episode, “Relics of the Old Republic.” Gellar’s Seventh Sister will likely make her debut in episode 5, titled “Always Two There Are,” in which the Ghost crew becomes embroiled with several new Inquisitors.
