That’s right, the Star Wars spinoff starring a young Han Solo will see Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke joining him in a galaxy far, far away.
The Han Solo spinoff film is currently untitled, but we still have some major details about the Star Wars solo film, which may end up being a trilogy.
First off, we know Alden Ehrenreich will play the man himself, Han Solo. Joining him will be Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian.
We also know three actresses were in contention for the lead female role, including Zoë Kravitz, Tessa Thompson, and Naomi Scott.
Now, the official Star Wars website is reporting that Emilia Clarke (aka the mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen) has joined the film.
Unfortunately, we don’t know what role Clarke will be playing in the movie. The site only states, “Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.”
That certainly sounds like she’ll have a major role, and considering Clarke’s acting chops, it’s unlikely she’s been cast for a minor spot in the franchise. Still, we may have to wait until further details are revealed before we know the extent of her hand in the project.
Remember that the untitled film is being led by directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and is set for release in 2018.
Until then, we have Rogue One in theaters this December.
