Julia Louis-Dreyfus hosted SNL for the third time along with musical guest Nick Jonas.
The cold open from this episode featured a spoof of this week’s Democratic national debate. Kate McKinnon returned as a wiry Hillary Clinton while Larry David made another cameo as Bernie Sanders. This time they took questions from the audience, in which Seinfeld’s own Elaine Benes had some interesting questions for the Vermont Senator. Check out the moment Seinfeld fans will be talking about below:
In her opening monologue, Julia Louis-Dreyfus brought on her Veep costar Tony Hale as Gary who, as expected, couldn’t hold the cue cards right. Veep fans will find this extremely entertaining.
In one of the digital sketches of the night, Julia played a housewife who just couldn’t seem to get it through her pool boy’s head that she was breaking things off. Luckily for her, Nick Jonas the lawnmower guy was there to fill in.
Aidy Bryant shined during the episode when she introduced a new character on Weekend Update named Animal Annie. Animal Annie loves animals but has a lot of baggage with each and every one of them. Check out the character we hope to see return in future episodes.
Nick Jonas performed two new songs on SNL. Check out “Close” featuring Tove Lo and “Champagne Problems” from his upcoming album “Last Year Was Complicated.”
