Mark Gatiss and Stephen Moffat play the role of Holmes. After all, who knows the detective better than the writers of the series? We can only assume then that the live blog is Watson’s contribution.
The brand new case comes to fans via the BBC Wales digital team. Creative Director Digital, Jo Pearce, mentions the idea is meant to place viewers in the heart of the drama. Joe Lidster wrote tonight’s script knowing the adventure could veer off course at any moment.
Pearce states in her BBC Wales blog post, “It’s an idea we’ve had for some time – I’ve just been waiting for the right opportunity to try it out. What could be better than bringing together sheer genius and testing Sherlock against the rest of the world? Sherlock Holmes’ unique style of deduction offers a fascinating format to play with, and social media means anything’s possible.”
Are you interesting enough to warrant a response from Sherlock Holmes?
The case begins at 8:00 p.m. GMT on the BBC One Twitter account. Be sure to follow along and get involved! The game is on!
Watch Sherlock season 4, episode 3, “The Final Problem,” Sunday, January 15 at 9:00 p.m. on BBC One in the UK and at 7:00 p.m. on PBS in the US.
