Book worms and TV fanatics aren’t the only ones with an exciting month ahead. Yes, J.K. Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy will reveal its content this month and primetime television shows will return from their summer hiatus (and we’re ridiculously thrilled for all of it), but September 2012 is looking to be a memorable month in the music world, too. Green Day. No Doubt. Mumford. Killers. Ben Folds. ‘Nuff said.
Sept. 4
Imagine Dragons – Night Visions
Our first Hypable Band of the Week recommendation, Imagine Dragons, have skyrocketed in popularity since we introduced them to you in May. Their music has been featured in The Perks of Being A Wallflower trailer, in promos for NBC’s Chicago Fire. Additionally, the band will also be featured on Disney’s Frankenweenie soundtrack and as part of the FIFA 2013 video game. The Sin City rockers will debut their first full-length album, Night Visions, this month.
Matchbox Twenty – North
It’s been a decade since Matchbox Twenty released a new album together, but the band is back with North, and they’re not playing the “are-we-a-super-relevant-band game.” Frontman Rob Thomas will mentor Team Cee Lo in the upcoming season of The Voice and the band will tour Europe and Australia before returning stateside later this fall. Listen to the lead single, “She’s So Mean,” below.
Smash Mouth – Magic
Remember Smash Mouth? Of “I’m A Believer” and “All Star” fame? Well, they’re back with their sixth studio album, Magic – the first since 2006. The San Jose band will promote their new music starting Oct. 11 at Walt Disney World in Orlando before heading Down Under for the rest of the month.
Sept. 11
