The Legend of Korra season 2 is well underway, furthering our deep love for the work of the two intelligent men in charge of this excellent Nickelodeon series.
Dear Mike and Bryan,
If it wasn’t for you guys, I wouldn’t have the friends that I have today.
I often find people as enamored with the beauty of the fantastic series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, and from there, we’re best friends for life.
There’s nothing else that compares to the the fantastic works of art you two create. The amount of time and dedication that it takes to make even a single episode blows our mind.
When thinking back to when we watched the ATLA pilot, we can distinctly remember the mature themes in this new-age Nickelodeon show. From then on, we were hooked, and new that we would follow the show on whatever journeys it had in store for us.
Growing up with the show, we had many warm memories with ATLA. The moment when we first did a human form of Waterbending in the shower was only exciting because of the concept you guys saw through.
After that, we always pretended to be benders in any way possible. From spinning around under water like Aang going into his Avatar State, to jumping down hills and pretending we were flying as an Airbender, playtime was never the same after your series.
We grew up, and the series ended. The epic conclusion of ATLA was epic and fitting, but it left us wanting more.
Then The Legend of Korra was announced. And we died. Figuratively, of course. After years of nothing from the Avatar universe, we were finally getting more!
As writing for Hypable became a way of life, it was only natural for us to cover our favorite animated series passionately. It was truly a dream come true to see you guys and the cast at San Diego Comic-Con 2013 for the season 2 premiere.
And there’s still more to come! We can’t wait to see the rest of season 2, but dread the day that The Legend of Korra ends. Who knows, there may be another incarnation of the Avatar after Korra…
Thank you for changing our lives forever.
Truley yours,
-Mitchel Clow
