Hypable had the opportunity to check out certain booths on the San Diego Comic-Con show floor ahead of preview night’s opening!
We spoke to the organizers at the Nickelodeon, The Walking Dead, IDW, and Boom areas about the exciting things they have going on for the show.
The Nickelodeon booth is right in front exploding with characters from all of their shows including Sponge Bob Square Pants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The booth has three separate sections including a voice over area in which fans can read a scene from their favorite shows as one of the characters and receive the file via email. There will also be in-booth signings with cast members from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Sponge Bob Square Pants. Nickelodeon will also be introducing a new show called Pig, Goat Banana, and Cricket. They will be giving out a thousand screener copies of the show beginning tonight.
Every year The Walking Dead brings a new zombie experience for fans to engage with and this year is no different. When we arrived the walkers were getting their make-up done and receiving a few lessons in how to shuffle just right. The experience is set up in three phases, and at least one of them is just horrifying to think about. In the pictures below you can see a trailer which will contain human torsos and zombies that jump out at you as you walk through. You never know where a walker might be hiding, so if you go through this experience be prepared!
IDW has several exclusives including Mike Zeck’s Classic Marvel Stories which he will be on hand to sign tonight, and Comic-Con exclusive covers for Onyx and the Women of Transformers. The games division of IDW will be introducing an expansion to Machi Koro. They will also be debuting Chew, a game based on the popular comic Chew. Every game comes with a SDCC exclusive comic and chog.
James Dashner fans will want to check out Boom as they have the Scorch Trials graphic novel which is a prequel to the upcoming film. James Dashner and the creative team behind the graphic novel will be on hand Sunday to sign the book. Boom also has an exclusive Comic-Con cover for Lumberjanes that features not only the characters but the creative team behind the popular comic. Boom also has an exclusive for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’s one page comic. Each cover features a different comic and will be set up as a mystery buy — you won’t know which one you got until you buy it.
The show floor is always crazy and today was no exception as set-up was still taking place, but there are plenty of things not to be missed!
