Scream season 2, episode 6, “Jeepers Creepers,” just finished airing. Did Noah survive the fun house?
Kieran apologizes to Emma about telling the cops about Jake’s phone, so Emma tells Kieran about the phone calls from the killer. She doesn’t want to tell the cops about what’s happened because all they care about is her PTSD record. I can’t say I necessarily blame her for this attitude. History has shown she can get a lot more done than the cops, but how many people will die in the process?
After Noah saw that video of Audrey with Jake’s body, she is his prime suspect as Piper’s accomplice. Emma stops over to tell him she believes he was right about there being a second killer (finally), and then she sees the board. She vehemently denies Audrey could possibly be the killer, and Noah doesn’t tell her about the video. I wonder if Emma doesn’t want to believe it because she doesn’t think Audrey would ever be involved in something like this, or if it’s because she can’t handle another person going off the deep end that she’s gotten close to. That sort of blindness could get her into trouble.
Meanwhile, Brooke is fully convinced that Seth Branson killed Jake because he was jealous of their relationship. She overhears Acosta say it looks like Seth will come out clean, but that’s not good enough for Brooke and she drafts Stavo into helping her crack the case. He’s more than eager to lend a hand (I shouldn’t be shipping them, right?), and he discovers that Branson’s alibi is none other than Ms. Lang, their psych teacher.
Is this why she’s been “helping” Emma so much and recording their meetings together? Is she gathering information for Seth, or is she taking advantage of him somehow? The relationship is strange, as Stavo so blatantly points out, because she’s not an underage girl. Maybe they’ve been working together this whole time?
Noah plants Audrey’s phone back on her and then he heads over to Emma’s and texts Eddie to get confirmation that Audrey is not the accomplice. “Eddie” texts back to meet him at the fairgrounds. Aren’t sirens going off in your head yet, Noah?
Speaking of Audrey, Stavo confronts her about his drawings, showing her that they’re part of a graphic novel he’s developing. She admits they’re good but still creepy, and he makes the valid point that if you’re telling the story of Murderville, things are bound to get bloody. But wouldn’t a murderer want to relive every moment of their kills in this way? It doesn’t let you off the hook just yet, Stavo.
Brooke wins her Emmy as she meets with Lang, crying on command and planting it in her head that they had been together on Sunday night, the night that Jake went missing. Lang calls Branson, but so does Brooke. She wants to hook up, and it sounds like he’s more than game. After their last meeting, I’m surprised he’s giving her the time of day. Wait, no I’m not. He doesn’t exactly think with his brain.
So Brooke ties up Branson and draws a little blood to let him know how serious he is. Seth admits to meeting Jake that night because Brooke’s boyfriend was paying Branson to leave Lakewood. Turns out he was getting the money from Brooke’s dad (which may explain this “off the books” job he mentions to Kieran’s aunt). Brooke finally believes Branson isn’t the killer, and leaves him there in bed, tied up and gagged.

But if you think everything’s been going too smoothly up until this point, you’re in luck because shit is about to get complicated. Emma’s car breaks down and Noah doesn’t have service at the fairgrounds, so that means he gets the bright idea to go into the fun house by himself. Luckily, he’s not a complete idiot, so he returns to his car fairly quickly, but that’s when the killer sneaks up behind him and knocks him out.
You know, I knew this was coming from last week’s promo video, but it didn’t make it any easier.
But I definitely didn’t see all those twists coming. First, we learn that Audrey is tied up, too. This gives them the chance to talk, and Noah admits he stole her phone (and lied to Riley about his favorite movie). Audrey also talks to Noah, but when Noah admits that he was there to meet Eddie, she drops the charade.

Turns out Audrey kidnapped Noah and tied them up to convince him of her innocence, but now that there’s a chance the real killer could be there, she desperately unties her best fried and they hightail it out of there. The duo run into Emma, who’s running from the killer, and then the three of them run into Kieran, who followed Emma because he was worried about her. Even Noah utters, “That’s odd,” at Kieran, and now sirens are going off in my head.
As Acosta gets news that Riley’s emails were actually coming from Emma (highly unlikely), Kieran plops himself down in the chair and tells the sheriff he wants to talk about his girlfriend. I know Kieran is just worried about Emma and wants to involve the police for good reason, but you can’t blame Emma for not trusting their judgement. Them questioning her about her sanity is just going to slow down the investigation, and they need all the time they can get to solve the mystery before the killer strikes again.
Audrey stops by Noah’s room and admits her involvement with Piper. She begged Piper to come to Lakewood because Audrey wanted help to research a documentary about Brandon James, someone she thought had been just as lonely and different as her. When the murders began, Audrey confronted Piper, but Piper denied any involvement and Audrey believed her.
Noah comforts her in that moment, calling her a victim, but (and God help me I saw this coming a mile away) he’s left his recording on. He’s caught her admission on tape (so to speak). I’d like to think this was his sneaky way of clearing her name, knowing she wouldn’t do it herself, but I have a feeling it’s not going to go exactly how he wants it to.
You know who else is getting a different outcome than they imagined? Seth Branson. He’s still tied to the bed when a figure enters and pulls off his blindfold. Of course it’s the killer — who else would it be? The masked murderer saws off Branson’s hand with a knife and then cauterizes it with an iron.
There should be no words, but I’ve got plenty of them because this gives us another clue as to the identity of the killer (I’m compartmentalizing, folks). It seems obvious now that Branson is not the one behind the mask, although perhaps his partner is just sending him a message. It’s likely Branson will live considering the bleeding has been stopped, and that’s not the usual M.O. for the Lakewood killer. There has to be a reason for this.
We also shouldn’t let it slide that this is the second attack that seems directly related to Brooke. Is someone trying to look out for her?

Aren’t you glad this is forever caught in GIF form?
Killer potential
Half the fun of Scream is trying to figure out who the killer is. Let’s sees who’s most suspicious this week.
- Ms. Lang: She’s connected to Seth Branson. She’s been “helping” Emma and Brooke. And she’s pissed that Branson probably cheated on her. Couple that with the fact that Seth is probably still alive, and it definitely adds up.
- Kieran Wilcox: He showed up at the fairgrounds at just the right time, didn’t he? He’s also getting controlling of Emma’s actions, and the idea that he, the rebellious son of a sheriff, would want to bring in the cops seems out of the ordinary. Is he really worried about Emma, or is he just trying to move the investigation in a different direction by getting Acosta to focus on her and her instabilities?
- Stavo Acosta: I really don’t think Stavo is the killer, but the facts are there. He has a Brandon James mask and he was taking selfies with it. He’s also become protective of Brooke and Seth Branson ends up with one less hand. Is this his twisted way of protecting her?
