Viewers won’t have to wonder about Olivia’s whereabouts for long when Scandal season 4 resumes in two weeks.
A new synopsis released today by ABC reveals that the Scandal winter premiere, titled “Run,” will kick off right where the last episode left us hanging, but from the perspective of Ms. Pope, who was seemingly captured right after freeing herself from the confines of recent drama.
“The winter premiere picks up right where the finale left off,” the synopsis for “Run” promises, “this time from Olivia’s point of view. Exactly what happened when Jake went to the bedroom? Who took Olivia and where did she go? The fight of Olivia’s life will begin.”
The episode was written by creator Shonda Rhimes and directed by Tom Verica, who played Annalisa’s husband Sam on another Shonda night drama, How to Get Away with Murder.
Viewers may’ve assumed that, since we were left wondering exactly who captured Olivia on the November 20 mid-season finale, the winter premiere wouldn’t be so forthcoming with her whereabouts. Now it seems we’ll quickly find out what the Vice President is doing with her in order to get Fitz to start up a war in West Angola. We’ll also quickly find out how Olivia fights back, because surely she won’t go down without a good fight.
Will Fitz buy into Andrew’s demands, or will he and Jake team up again to save their favorite woman? We think the President won’t bend to the Vice President’s wishes, because starting a war would — in reality at least — set off a whole new set of problems.
Who knows — maybe Rowan will be pissed about Olivia’s capture and agree to fight with Jake and Fitz!
Scandal season 4, episode 10 airs Thursday, January 29 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on ABC.
