With Kristen Wiig’s Oscar-nominated year, SNL is apparently beginning to look for female comics to replace her when the time comes. A few have already tested for the show, with one potentially making her debut next week!

According to deadline.com, the following 4 women have already tested in front of SNL creator Lorne Michaels:

  • Kate McKinnon (The Big Gay Sketch Show)
  • Jessica Joy (The Playboy Club)
  • Lauren Lapkus (Are You There Chelsea)
  • Elaine Carroll (Very Mary-Kate).

Deadline is also reporting that Kate McKinnon will make her debut on SNL next week Saturday during Modern Family star Sofia Vergara’s episode.

McKinnon may be testing out SNL currently with final decisions about her lock in for next season being made over the summer.

Wiig’s contract with SNL is up at the end of this season, with a decision about her stay on the show coming this summer as well.

We are really excited to see Elaine Carroll being considered! Very Mary-Kate is one of our favorite YouTube channels! Check out one of her videos below!
