Revenge season 4, episode 4, “Meteor,” just aired. See what happened with our South Hampton residents during tonight’s episode.
Tonight’s Revenge picks up where we left off last week – the aftermath of the break-in at Emily’s. Nolan thinks Victoria hired a hit man to kill Emily and he wants to involve the police. As always, Emily never wants the police involved because it’s just not what she does. “Ems, there was a man in your room, with a knife, and he was not after your stash of vintage Cartier.” Leave it to Nolan to keep it real.
Victoria arrives to their empty cabin in the woods. David arrives wounded from the night before. Victoria is upset because he was supposed to be watching Charlotte, but instead he says he paid Emily a visit. Victoria is worried that someone saw him, but he assures her that no one did. She tells him his return has to be carefully planned and he needs an alibi from the night Conrad was killed. “Let me take care of things,” she tells him.
Back at Emily’s, Nolan calls Jack and Ben over about the B&E, much to her dismay. She explains she didn’t see his face because he jumped off the balcony. It’s a 15-foot drop so they believe the intruder must have some sort of injury. Outside, Ben asks Jack if Emily just doesn’t like cops. Jack says he knows Ben is just trying to impress her and lays some boundaries. Ben, did you attend ninja school? Then she’s out of your league, bro.
David wakes up at the cabin to a note saying Victoria left for the city. David walks to the foyer of the cabin and grabs a long chain. He proceeds to wrap it around his hand and starts to whip his own back. Twenty years in solitary confinement must be brutal to the mind.
Victoria heads to Charlotte’s and informs her that she knows she’s been filling her Xanax ‘script since she’s been away. Charlotte explains that she’s upset because she wanted her meeting with David to be a happy moment, but instead Victoria uses it as a way to get back at Emily. “The Grayson Mantra: Lie and Deny.” Charlotte, if you’re that upset then please tell Emily the truth!
Daniel visits Margaux at LeMarchal where she tells him that Victoria paid her a visit the night prior and asked for money. Daniel apologizes on his mother’s behalf, but Margaux doesn’t seem to mind because now Victoria owes her. Smart girl. Daniel tells Margaux that he is trying to start his own Wealth Management firm with Louise Ellis as his first client.
Once David finishes beating himself, he stumbles into a convenience store, clearly disoriented, and steals something. The store already has two police officers inside and he’s quickly apprehended. At the station, Ben sees him enter and notices that he is injured and walking with a limp. He leaves Emily a voice mail to come to the precinct, as he may have found something.
Victoria shows up where Daniel is working on Louise’s profile and hands him some money – she found some “hidden assets” of Conrad’s. Ha! Daniel calls her out on her lies and tells her to keep away from Margaux and Charlotte. Louise looks on from afar and sends an anonymous glass of Latour 1920 to Victoria. She dismisses it, as Daniel has upset her. We’re glad someone can make her feel this way.
Louise is upset that Victoria didn’t take the drink but walks toward Daniel and excessively flirts with him. She wants small talk and asks about his mother and talks about her own. She wants him to feel as if they’re equals, with equally evil mothers. Daniel tells her he wants to make her a lot of money.
Upstairs, Louise enters Daniel’s room – as hers is across the hall – and she wants to celebrate their partnership in person. She talks about it being fate and not a coincidence that they met. Mmmhmm. She gives him a gift of…swim trunks. She wants the work-and-play relationship with Daniel. Somehow these situations always happen to him.
Jack is prepping the lineup of possible perps from the break-in at Emily’s when he realizes number three is David Clarke. He wants to warn Emily before she comes in, but Ben doesn’t allow it. Jack is then stopped by his chief, Alvarez, and asks to be filled in as a break-in at Grayson Manor is a big deal and will bring media attention.
Emily is brought in to identify her intruder and the second she sees him she is in disbelief. “Number three,” she says, as she walks closer to get a better look at her father. She is brought to tears but tries to hold back as much as she can because Ben is there. She says she doesn’t recognize anyone and runs out. Nolan is outside and is in complete shock as he is informed of the news. They realize it’s too late to go back inside, as the feds have arrived and are now aware that David Clarke is indeed alive.
Chief Alvarez calls Victoria and has her brought to the station through the back entrance. He informs her that someone was brought in and his prints belong to David Clark. She acts surprised and alarmed at the news to the chief, but we see behind those beautiful brown eyes.
Just as David is about to give a statement to the feds, Victoria enters with an attorney. David says he just wants to tell the truth. He says Conrad framed him and he was kept hostage after his death was faked. He was tortured and shows them his back scars. He escaped and was then taken in by police, he now fears that Conrad will kill him. The federal officer informs him that Conrad has been dead for six months and David’s name has since been cleared. Relief comes across his face and then we see Victoria’s look of approval.
Victoria and David are alone in a room at the station and she feeds David some prime BS. David tells her that while away he analyzed everyone and everything. He remembers the last words Victoria told him before he was taken in the first time: “Let me take care of things.” She said the same thing to him this morning, and he says he won’t be anyone’s prisoner anymore, not even hers. Go, David!
David walks out to do his press conference to the media. Emily and Nolan show up just in time to see him walk out and Charlotte and Victoria are shortly behind. David tells the press his prayers have been answered and he’s glad to have his family back, he looks behind and asks Victoria and Charlotte to stand beside him. Victoria speaks and it looks as if she and Emily have their eyes locked the entire time. She says they want privacy so David can be with those he loves most. If that isn’t a dagger right through Em’s heart, we don’t know what is.
“What just happened?” Nolan asks Emily. “She got to him first.”
