Quantico is indeed back, ladies and gentlemen. Prepare yourselves for a whole new set of challenges now that Alex Parrish is working for the CIA.
The last thing we saw in the Quantico season 1 finale was Alex being recruited to work undercover in the CIA by a man named Matthew Keyes. That happens to be exactly where this episode picks up before it barrels full-steam ahead into another disaster that Alex just so happens to be in the middle of yet again.
If you need a little refresher as to how exactly we left everyone at the end of Quantico season 1, make sure to check out our quick catch-up guide before you dive into all the fun, new mysteries of season 2.
The Farm
Alex, along with a dozen or so other mid-20s candidates, have been chosen for “The Farm,” a top secret CIA training facility where they will learn everything they need to know to be a skilled CIA operative. While some of the recruits seem tailor-made for this kind of thing, others are a bit of a mystery as to why they were chosen.
Ryan Booth, lover-boy extraordinaire, has also been selected for The Farm, a fact which immediately irritates Alex to no end. They are quickly informed that while it wasn’t exactly planned that way, the FBI is happy to let it play out. Basically, they’ve got twice the skin in the game, so they’re twice as happy.
As it was at Quantico, not everyone is as they seem at The Farm. While the recruits are trying to figure out exactly what is being asked of them in their evaluation scenarios, one amongst them is actually a high-level CIA operative. Ten bucks if you know who they’ve marked as the weakling. No takers? Fine, it’s Alex. Lydia Bates has her pegged as the one with a hero complex, and she is not wrong. Only time will tell if The Farm can rid Alex of her need to play the hero.
The Hostage situation
When we’re not at The Farm, we’re in the show’s present day where a terrorist organization has exploded a handful of truck-bombs in New York City. They used those to create a perimeter around the location of a summit where a number of foreign leaders will be discussing the need for world-wide surveillance.
They don’t get too much of a discussion, however, as this terrorist organization swoops in and forces POTUS into a lose-lose situation. Either he issues a pardon for a comrade of theirs, or they will kill his wife and/or release a biological weapon into the streets of New York City. Easy to say, none of these scenarios are what you’d call ideal.
Clearly the events of this hostage situation will continue to unfold as the season moves forward. We were able to pinpoint a handful of Alex’s fellow Farm trainees in the room, as well as Booth and Reyna, while Alex tries to stay out of sight as she figures out how to take these terrorists down. We can’t wait to hopefully see more of our season 1 people get involved, and maybe a few of these fresh faces will join the cause and fight alongside Alex Parrish and company.
Questions we’d like answered:
- Who exactly was behind the mask that thanked Booth for his “efforts”?
- Is the “Citizen’s Liberation Front” the same group that Keyes mentions is hiding inside the CIA and wants Alex to infiltrate?
- Will we be seeing more from Brandon, Caleb, Iris, Shelby, and maybe even Will this season?
