President Barack Obama is getting ready for his next talkshow appearance, this time on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Proverb: “A good leader is he who walks amongst his people and knows them.”
On Thursday, March 12, President Obama will grace ABC with his presence, sitting down for a chat with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.
Kimmel is a solid choice for the President. Not only has Obama appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! once before, via satellite back in 2008 (before he was elected President), but Kimmel also hosted the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner:
Obama was actually scheduled to make a surprise appearance on Kimmel’s show last year, so we’re glad it’s finally working out.
Also appearing on Kimmel’s show this Thursday is Sean Penn, who may or may not be taken to task for his subversive comments during his 2015 Oscars speech.
This marks the first time the President of the United States has appeared in person on an ABC late-night show.
First Lady Michelle Obama has previously appeared on Kimmel’s show, delivering a taped appearance in 2012.
Obama has previously made himself available for various late-night appearances, including Late Show With David Letterman and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
He even subjected himself to Zach Galifianakis’ alternative interviewing style in Between Two Ferns, proving that there are many ways to connect with the people he has been elected to serve.
We’re sure that Jimmy Kimmel is planning something fun for Obama to do, similar to when Jimmy Fallon had him do the slow news jam:
Considering the increasing cultural significance of entertainment in America, it seems appropriate for Obama to make himself available for these types of appearances.
