Once Upon a Time season 5, episode 21, “Last Rites”:
-Initial Reaction: Thumbs up/thumbs down
-Favorite Quotes
-Zelena leaves her daughter with Hades… and we all shouted a collective “WTF?!”
-Do you remember that time travel plot-point? Did they drop it altogether? Or will it come back for the finale?
-Arthur’s back!!… and now he’s dead. His appearance did wrap up the Camelot storyline pretty tidily.
-Hades is a master emotional manipulator… and Zelena is the easiest prey he could ever hope for.
-Zelena: Dumb or just the ultimate wishful-thinker?
-Will Regina revert to Evil Queen mode over Robin’s death?
-The Olympian crystal gave Karen Greek mythology feelings.
-This True Love’s Kiss business is getting messy. Do both parties have to be in love for it to be a TLK?
-Merida made an appearance, and we all enjoyed getting a glimpse at a fun character.
-Our weekly dose of Rumpel anger.
-Is this just lazy Rumpel?
-It’s hard to put our finger on the grand plot-scheme for this section of the season.
-Emma needed to finish helping Hook before she could properly grieve. She might have been a little scattered about it, but she needed to secure Hook’s unfinished business first.
-Hook and Arthur quest together, kill lost souls together, and send Emma the missing storybook pages together.
-Robin’s death: Is it final-final? Or is there wiggle room for Zeus to have power to bring him back?
-Should Hook have died instead? Would his death have been more impactful as far as reminding us that death is final and complete?
-We miss the manipulative and genius villain that Rumpel used to be.
-The funeral was really beautiful and sad.
-We disagree a little about how Hook’s return went down. Kristen wishes Killian could have chosen his fate, whereas Karen is happy to see that he trusted the gods.
-We share our hopes for these final two hours and what may be coming down the pike for season 6.
