Episode #49 – Sex Chicken

Hosted by Karen Rought, Natalie Fisher and Caitlin Kelly

January 22, 2014

Karen, Natalie and special guest Caitlin recap and theorize the happenings of Teen Wolf season 3, episode 15 “Galvanize.”

Featured Song: “Change” by Churchill

– This week’s special guest co-host is Caitlin!
– Caitlin covers Supernatural and Arrow for Hypable – we chat about these shows and whether you should watch them.
– In our quotes section, Natalie picks one that may have launched a new ship, Karen chooses a fantastic bit of meta, and Caitlin goes for possibly the most hysterical scene in all of Teen Wolf.
– We cut right to the chase – what is the deal with William Barrow, what does he know about kids with glowing eyes, and why on earth did he want Kira specifically?
– His surgery was the grossest thing in the history of civilization.
– Though Karen thinks Peter’s finger reattachment was grosser.
– The twins come back to high school, for better or worse, because Scott is the hottest girl.
– Derek and Peter try some sort of werewolf seance ritual using dead claws in order to communicate with Talia. Peter may have ulterior motives. We are so shocked!
– Barrow heads for the high school, and Sheriff is torn between his new knowledge of the supernatural and following good old fashioned leads. Is his conflict reasonable?
– Not Another Scott McCall Awkward Dinner! Anyone got a good wasabi story?
– Kira’s background is explored – what could that all mean? What more is there to learn?
– Why does Mr Yukimura want Scott to date his daughter so badly?
– There’s yet more Stiles/Lydia bonding. We discuss how their dynamic has blossomed, and also the significance of the red string Lydia was winding around her finger.
– Stiles and Lydia go back to school at night and figure out why no one could find Barrow. They also find out what he wants, because he left them a helpful note.
– When Derek gets back from visiting his mom in the afterlife or the past or whatever, Peter seems pretty worried about what she might have said about him.
– Lydia’s been hearing disembodied buzzing, like flies, so Allison breaks out the bestiary. Isaac comes over to help, and the pair address their sexual tension in a scene we literally have trouble talking about because it is so ridiculous. No words do it justice.
– When Scott leaves Kira’s house, Barrow bashes him on the head and takes Kira. Lydia is able to finally purposely activate her powers in order to help find her.
– The others get to where Kira is taken, but Kira is able to save herself by soaking up all the electricity… in the whole town. What the hell is she? We look at a few potential options from mythology.
– Isaac gets kidnapped by masked men. We hope he’s back in time for the Halloween blacklight party next week!
We discuss a major visual twist that has been going on for all of season 3B.
– We finish up with our Non Sequitur Section and yet more anticipation of the rave that will be held in Derek’s loft next week!
