Special #5 – Making Web Series With ‘Muzzled: The Musical’

Hosted by Selina Wilken, Pamela Gocobachi, Maxwell Glick, Jason Charles Miller

September 25, 2015

Hype invites Muzzled: The Musical star Maxwell Glick and producer Jason Charles Miller on the show to discuss their work in the web series and music industries, and preview their upcoming punk princess adventure!

You’ll know Maxwell Glick from School of Thrones and The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and Jason Charles Miller’s versatile career has seen him tour with Marilyn Manson and Linkin Park, lend his voice to Avatar: The Last Airbender, and produce several solo albums.

We encourage listeners to check out this podcast not only if you’re a web series fan, but also if you’re interested in learning more about what goes into producing content for the web, and working in Hollywood.

(Note: Maxwell was calling in from Disneyland (as you do), so the quality at the beginning is a little poor. But at least it’s the sound of magic, right guys?)

Shownotes:
– What’s Muzzled all about?
– How did Buffy‘s Juliet Landau get involved?
– How to sell a webseries — or, maybe how not to sell a webseries
– Will web content ever replace television?
– Maxwell and Jason also collaborated on “Magic in the Air,” a song all about Disneyland
– When writing Muzzled, what came first, the music or the story?
– What does the mainstream industry actually think about the artists working online?
– Jason talks about his work with Felicia Day and Billy Ray Cyrus
– Music recommendations! Jason has been listening to Chris Stapleton’s album Traveller, and Jason Isbell’s Something More Than Free.
– Jason’s of course also doing music of his own, and we highly recommend his latest video “Here to Kill the Pain.” And stick around until the end for a taste of “You Get What You Pay For.”
– Finally, we recap where you can find Muzzled when it launches (see below), and Jason recommends the new show he’s working on, Billy-Ray Cyrus’ CMT comedy Still the King. Check out a preview here!

Muzzled: The Musical launches on October 19 on the official YouTube channel.
