Special #8 – Buffy: The Vampire Special

Hosted by Selina Wilken, Marama Whyte, Karen Rought, Caitlin Kelly, Natalie Fisher

December 6, 2015

Exciting news: Hypable.com’s podcast ReWatchable is launching its great Buffy the Vampire Slayer rewatch, watching all seven seasons with new viewers, who’ve never seen the show before!

To prepare ourselves for this epic undertaking, Hype and ReWatchable are partnering up to bring you a special podcast episode all about Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s full of spoilers, as all our hosts are massive fans!

It’s a chance to get all our feelings and opinions about the show out there before we have to start keeping quiet about all the things we love (and maybe… don’t care so much for?), so if you’re a huge Buffy fan, this podcast episode is for you.

Shownotes:
– How did we all become Buffy fans?
– What makes it such an iconic show?
– Our absolute favorite characters include Cordelia, Giles, and Buffy herself
– Spike, Spike, Spike! (Yay or nay? You decide)
– Are we more into the later seasons of Buffy, or do we prefer the high school years?
– What episodes, arcs or surprises are we most looking forward to the newbies experiencing?
– We also talk a bit about the less great parts of Buffy. Specifically, we discuss Willow’s development, and the unnecessary assault storyline serving as a catalyst for Spike’s season 7 arc
– ……Riley who?
– Was Buffy‘s conclusion satisfactory?
– The pros and cons of watching Angel concurrently with Buffy
– Why the Tales of the Slayer companion books are must-reads
– Listener feedback.

Our great Buffy rewatch will commence later this month, with an introduction show and our “Welcome to the Hellmouth” discussion. Make sure you subscribe to ReWatchable on iTunes so you get the episodes directly to your Podcasts app!
