Some of the Hype Podcast hosts went to San Diego Comic-Con and had fun/stupid adventures. Hear their stories and get a peek into the not-so-glamorous life of fandom journalism!

San Diego Comic-Con 2016 is officially at an end, and because we really wanted to make it happen, we managed to scrounge together an in-person podcast right before we scattered to the winds. Selina, Pam, Kyle and special guest Michal set up a microphone and sat down for a quick breakdown of everything that’s happened: Interviews, panels, parties, and of course embarrassing moments (because, well, we all seem to be really embarrassing).

Note that we’ll be bringing Kristen (who was also at SDCC) and Marama back on for more comprehensive SDCC breakdowns on future episodes of Hype. Consider this a little last-minute bonus Hype — and yes, we know the sound isn’t amazing!

– Each of the hosts pick a favorite panel/interview: Pam got to speak to the cast of Prison Break, Kyle went to Orphan Black‘s last panel, and Selina met The 100 writers!
– We’re already planning future convention adventures because Hype is “Big in the Future”
– Parties! Selina and Kyle attended the Starz party and met the starz, and Pam and Kyle went to the Nylon party where Kristian Nairn DJ’ed, and we went to Scholastic and got free books
– We all walked the floor together on the first day, and were a little overwhelmed
– We talk a bit about what it’s like to meet your idols, and Selina shares some of her Wynonna Earp interview anecdotes
– Embarrassing stories! We’ve all got them. Kyle shares his Grant Gustin encounter, Selina is bad at recognizing famous people, and Pam bonded with an actress in the bathroom…
– Preview stuff! Pam saw the Time After Time pilot, and we experienced the Timeless booth
– There were also some fantastic cosplayers around! We talk about some of our favorites
– None of us were there for Fantastic Beasts… but Pam was right above Hall H!
