Episode #109: Supergirls

Hosted by Selina Wilken, Pamela Gocobachi

August 13, 2016

In this week’s episode of Hype Podcast, Selina and Pam rehash some of the biggest TCA news, a new Fantastic Beasts casting, the all-female Ocean’s movie, Supergirl, Roswell and much more. Between news about Merlin, Roswell and Narnia, what year is this?!

(Note that we recorded this Thursday, before the new Rogue One trailer dropped!)

How Pam Hypes:
– It’s just Pam this week, sharing her love for Netflix’s The Little Prince.

News:
– Zoë Kravitz joins the cast of Fantastic Beasts… a little late in the game? We also learn more about Ezra Miller’s character, and Alison Sudol teases Queenie’s new type of Legilimency
– The Narnia film series is finally continuing with The Silver Chair, and we’re all about it
– We’re also all about the all-female Ocean’s Eleven movie, which is NOT a reboot. But… Rihanna?
– We attempt to get a handle on what the heck is happening with the Divergent series over at Lionsgate. Looks like Allegiant, Part 2 will be a TV movie, with the story continuing as a series, without the original actors. What?
– CW boss says they’re working on bringing Nina Dobrev back for The Vampire Diaries finale, yay
– Meanwhile there might be a Star Wars TV series on ABC!
SNL is set to lose Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam, and that’s terrible
– Jeph Loeb suggests Marvel isn’t done with Agent Carter
– Our Merlin homegirl Katie McGrath is heading to Supergirl!
– AND there’s an Arrow/Flash/Supergirl musical crossover ep coming up (we recorded this before the rumor about Joss Whedon directing broke, hence the lack of squeeing by Selina)
Rosswell is returning…..kiiiind of? Majandra Delfino and Brendan Fehr are reuniting for Baron + Toluca, which is basically about Michael and Maria
– There’s a rumor that Adele will be this year’s Superbowl half-time performer. Yay or nay?

TV Show of the Week:
– Pam is all about Roadies, from Cameron Crowe, who also directed Almost Famous
– Selina is almost done with Stranger Things, and has mixed feelings about it.

We wrap up with Listener Feedback, which includes a response to our Time After Time discussion, some more Harry Potter fanfic recommendations, and Gilmore Girls fangirling.
