Episode #71 – Rowling Like Trolling

Hosted by Selina Wilken, Pamela Gocobachi, Kristen Kranz

October 28, 2015

It’s not all about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Hypable’s HYPE Podcast this week! We also talk The Walking Dead, Supergirl, Gilmore Girls and Adele.

We’re also excited to present a snippet of our interview with Buffy star Juliet Landau, who has launched an Indiegogo campaign for her vampire documentary A Place Among the Undead. You’ll find the interview at the end of the episode, where she talks about how vampire auteurs like Joss Whedon and Anne Rice use vampirism as metaphors for the human condition.

How We Hype:
– Kristen saw Steve Jobs and really liked it
– Selina reviews Suffragette, which may or may not be in theaters? Not being American is confusing…

News:
– Now we know why Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is not a prequel *facepalm*
– Pam is still super excited about Gilmore Girls!
– Batfleck is considering directing a solo Batman movie. Too bad we still have no idea how he’ll be in the role
– Marvel wants Peyton Reed for Ant-Man and the Wasp. Or as it shall henceforth be known: And the Wasp.
– The second Pride and Prejudice and Zombies trailer is even more awesome than the first
– Bryce Dallas Howard won’t wear heels in Jurassic World 2… why does it matter?!
– There’s not one, but two Warm Bodies sequels coming!
– The Sherlock special premiere date has been announced yay
– The 2016 Golden Globes will be hosted by Ricky Gervais. Ehh?
– We react to the amazing Jessica Jones trailer
– Kristen cries about The Whispers cancellation, and makes us realize that it would have been our favorite show
– Hello… it’s Adele you’re looking for…

TV Show of the Week:
– There’s a big Walking Dead spoiler in here but there’s a timecode! Just skip to 54:40 to avoid it.
– We all gush about Supergirl, which finally premiered on TV.

Wrapping up the show with How We Hype and Listener Feedback as usual, and then the sample of our Juliet Landau interview can be found after the outro music. Enjoy! The A Place Among the Undead Indiegogo page can be found here.
