Episode #9 of Secret Diaries Chat is here! In this episode the hosts discuss last week’s episodes ofThe Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle, “Heart of Darkness” and “Crystal.”

This week it’s Selina, Laura and Sonya speaking out on unexpected developments with the the Damon and Elena relationship on The Vampire Diaries the other Blackwell child on The Secret Circle finally being revealed. If you are so inclined, you can skip ahead to the Secret Circle part of the podcast, which starts at 34:00 minutes in. This week, in a new twist, we incorporated listener feedback into the show’s two portions.

Have been going mad all week cos all 4 of my fave podcasts are late coming out. 3 came today, Michael Buckley Gleecap is out too and there’s a new ep of VD and TSC today too. My life is complete :D

Actually I want to start this by saying I like the podcast episodes coming on Thursday because I can listen to the recap of last week’s episode before watching the new episode that night.

I still think that the traitor could very well be an Elder (and if it isn’t the same thing) one of the grandparents (Charles’ mom or Jake’s grandfather) or one of the parents (Dawn, Charles, Ethan). I mean it very well could be Jake’s grandfather but it would be more likely to be Kate Meade.

Regarding Damon and Stefan…

I think they’re both about equal at this point. At the beginning of the whole series, viewers thought that Stefan was good and Damon was bad; there was no in-between. Now, we see that both of the brothers have equal amounts of good and bad, and often those aspects blur (meaning that some bad actions turn out to be good and vice versa). I can understand what Rose meant when she explained what the brothers were for Elena, but it seemed to me that it was pinning them back in the roles they had at the beginning of the series.

I think both characters have evolved enough to be seen as equals. The only thing that makes Damon surprising and interesting is the fact that Elena has been with Stefan for so long. If she had ended up with Damon early on, we’d be thinking the exact same thing about Stefan. It’d be something new and exciting.

I’d prefer for Elena to leave the brothers alone for a while, but I don’t think that’ll happen. I think she’d choose Stefan, but who knows if that’s the right or wrong choice. With the brothers pretty much the same at this point, it’s hard to decide what I’d like to see more.

I loved the episode! I’m going to have a hard time watching TCS tonight as I’m deathly afraid of clowns and I saw a glimpse of a very creepy one on the preview. TVD’s preview for tonight looked awesome so I cannot wait for that one as well!

I’m listening to the episode right now and got so excited about the discussion that I wanted to throw this theory in now. I think it would be so much more interesting if the writers were to throw a twist in and have Diana succumb to the dark side and have Cassie be the one to try to reel her back because we’re used to seeing Diana be the good girl and they’ve already set up Cassie being the dark one that it just wouldn’t be that much of a surprise if Diana had to save her from the dark side.

I still say Sara Armstrong is the traitor but we’ll know more in a few hours. It would make sense, given that the previous Circle is part of the reason her husband is dead and the current Circle is part of the reason her son is dead. Plus, Jake was working for the hunters too not too long ago.

I’m pretty sure they want to kill the other Originals so they can cut off Klaus’ strongest allies. Given that Kol tried to kill Matt a few eps back and Rebekah tortured Damon medieval style, you can kind of see why they don’t want them around.

And given that [SPOILER] Damon and Stefan come to an agreement in a few eps that whoever Elena doesn’t pick will leave town for good[END SPOILER], I’d say Elena will choose neither.BTW his name is TYLER, not Taylor.

  Wow I’ve never considered that Sara Armstrong could be the traitor or that there was a strong possibly that she’s still alive but after re-watching “Witness” I see that we never actually see her get killed.

    Plus, when you consider that Eben escaped the fire, it’s not entirely beyond the realm of possibility that she got out too.

Love Doctor Who, can’t wait for the new podcast. I was surprised and disappointed that they decided to kill off Jane too but considering that she didn’t exactly die the same way that Calvin did I’m holding out hope that she actually didn’t die and is just somehow injured. Remember, her body started to decompose and go to ash the way Calvin’s had did in the episode “Masked” but then it stopped and went back to normal. That has to mean something and I’m hoping it means that we’ll see her again, preferably alive.

So I just finished the TVD and SC episodes just a little while ago and have come to the conclusion I’m too emotionally involved with these shows. I mean TVD had be bawling like a baby and I had to keep reminding myself it’s just a show and none of this is real!

Anyone else feel the same?

Wouldn’t it be ‘Rebesther’ if you’re talking about Rebekah/Esther? It had me confused for a while, like “Who is ‘Rebester’?” hahaha. And it’s ‘Tyler,’ not ‘Taylor.’
