Our show is dedicated to in-depth discussion about the Doctor Who universe: show and cast commentary, filming locations, rumors, tie-in video games/other products, spin-off series and more.

Don’t worry if you are trying to stay spoiler free for the upcoming series. We even have a specially marked spoiler section with a little help from River Song herself so listeners can skip around that information if they wish.

Three of our hosts from around the globe are back on this episode which was a bit of a fun romp that was a homage to the movie Snakes on a Plane.  Hypable’s regular Doctor Who writers, Laura Byrne-Cristiano and Harri Sargeant, lead the discussion with  Natalie Fisher joining in.

– We start out with our instantaneous, gut reactions to the episode and it’s a mixed bag for us. We all generally enjoyed the episode, but not all of us were 100% satisfied with the writing of the lesser characters
– Next we proceed with discussing our favorite quotes from the episode
-After a brief plot summary we proceed with an in-depth discussion of

  • Our favorite dinosaurs
  • This week’s main guest star, Mark Williams as Rory’s dad, how he compare to other parental figures in the series, and what we thought of the father/son relationship
  • How do Queen Nefertiti and Ridell rank among our historic figures?
  • David Bradley, also a Harry Potter alum plays the villain, just how evil is he and were the Doctor’s actions towards him justified?
  • Harri and Natalie help American fans understand the in-jokes behind the robots
  • Recap on Silurians and where have we seen this race before
  • Amy and Rory weaning off the doctor

In our spoiler section we talk a bit about how Silurian information may tie into potential spoilers

Back from our spoiler section we dive into our mail bag with Oswin Oswald speculation and how do those nanogenes work exactly? Lastly, we cover some instant reactions to the episode.

As we say in the show, our listeners are the most important thing to us. We want you hear from you. What do you want us to discuss?

It is most likely my internet connection, but I tried listening to the podcast several times, and ‘play now’ and ‘download podcast’ stop all times when the discussion about Solomon begins. Because I cannot fast-forward, I always have to load the entire show again. I am downloading I-Tunes now, but it looks like it will take a long time.

Hope it will work now, as I really like listening to your discussions and it would be rather sad to miss out on an episode. But technological problems are always annoying.

Otherwise: great work and please continue doing a lot of shows in the future.

If you tried today there were some server issues that might have had an effect.

The time frame was 2657. They posted the date for every stop in the opening scene except the Ponds—mean anything?

I loved the Doctor Who episode and just finished listening to the first 40 minutes of the podcast (had to get to work!). One thing I wanted to tell Laura regarding Mitchell and Webb is that even though most Americans may not generally know them, if you’ve watched BBC America for a while, their show (“The Mitchell and Webb Look”) used to air there. That’s how I know them. I’ve also listened to Mitchell on various shows so I was instantly able to recognize his voice when his robot started to speak. Interestingly though, when I heard his voice I went to the BBC-Doctor Who website to see who were playing the characters and there were other names there.
I also found the fact that Rory mentioned his age being 31 as very interesting. I thought they were younger too. So much has happened since they got married, but I was still thinking that maybe only 5 years had passed, not 10.
Love the podcast! Keep it up!!

Tabbing and Slotting. Oh my god. I’m dying. Freaking love this show.

  • Rachelle

Is it just me or has Doctor Who been get dirtier and dirtier for a family television show?

  • gfludal

I was a bit late listening to this episode of the podcast. So cool you guys quoted me! and sorry for having a weird nickname. It’s actually G. Fludal, with Fludal being my last name, although you would have problem pronouncing my first name too (Gjertrud)

A friend of mine sent a link to this theory which I found very interesting
